JCB, the world’s leading construction equipment manufacturer, has introduced two new tandem rollers to the North American market, the CT160 and CT260, which weigh between 3,770 and 6,041 lbs. and are easy to tow and transport, providing convenience and flexibility for operators.

The CT160 is available with either a 31.5-inch (800 mm) or 39.3-inch (1,000 mm) drum, while the CT260 comes with a larger 47.2-inch (1,200 mm) drum. Both models offer the durability and proven performance that have made them so successful in markets outside of North America.

James Gill, product manager for backhoe loaders, site dumpers and compaction equipment at JCB North America, expressed confidence in the re-entry of these models into the North American market. He emphasised the extensive track record of success and strong engineering behind these machines.

Branded ‘Vibromax’ and originating from a German company acquired by JCB in 2005, the machines have a range of features tailored to improve operator experience and productivity. These include responsive directional drive levers, hourglass profiles for improved visibility of the drum edge, and ergonomically designed control panels with tactile feedback switches.

Key features of the CT160 and CT260 include automatic vibration control, manually adjustable front drum offset and drum chamfering for the finishing stage. These machines are equipped with Tier 4 Final compliant engines, eliminating the need for diesel particulate filters or waste fluids.

Maintenance is made easier by ground-level engine service points, a high lift, tilting engine cover and accessible water tanks (with “WATER ONLY” embossed on the tank for clarity). Rust prevention measures such as stainless steel spray bars ensure equipment longevity and reliability.

JCB’s LiveLink telematics system, standard on the CT160 and CT260, provides real-time location tracking, utilisation monitoring and critical machine alerts. This enables proactive maintenance programmes and efficient fleet management.

With the introduction of these new tandem rollers, JCB continues its commitment to providing innovative solutions to meet the evolving needs of the North American construction industry.
